- [Curt] Education provides the foundation for a productive society. The United States Department of Education gathers statistics from educational institutions around the U.S. and makes them available through the department's data and research site, enabling analysts to examine and evaluate education in the U.S. I have opened the Department of Education main page, at ed.gov and I'll go the right and click the data header. That takes me to the data and statistics page and here I can get information about education in the U.S. So for example, there are some featured resources at the top and if I scroll down, you'll see that we have the National Center for Education statistics, including the create a graph tool, that is great for kids. You can also look for data on public schools and schools and colleges. There also a digest of education statistics. So if you click that, you'll find a list of tables and figures.
