- [Instructor] The ultimate goal of business analytics is to make recommendations to management based on what the data tells us might happen going forward. But at its core, business analytics starts with just understanding what's going on at the firm, so we can make recommendations based on the current situation. Let's take a look at an example. I'm in the 03_04_Begin Excel file. Now what we have here are data on six hypothetical retail locations for a store chain. And we've got data on their daily number of customers over a three month timeframe as well as data on their daily sales over that same timeframe from January through March, 2020. Now the first problem that I see here, kind of looking at it, we've gone through and summed up the number of customers.
