Troubleshoot formulas
- [Instructor] We have some great tools available to us to help us troubleshoot errors that we receive in our formulas. In this video I'm going to show you three tools that will be very helpful to you. First, we'll look at the Watch Window. This allows you to watch a range of cells, you don't even have to be on the same worksheet where the range is located, and then you'll be able to see if any of the information changes. Next we'll look at Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents. These are great if you're trying to evaluate a formula and see why it's not working correctly or if you're just curious as to where that information is being pulled from you'll use Trace Precedents, or if you're curious as to are there any other cells that might be dependent upon that particular cell, that's when you'll use Trace Dependents. Finally, we'll look at the Evaluate Formulas command. All of these are skills that you might be asked to demonstrate your knowledge of on the Excel 2016 MOS Expert exam. I…
