- [Dennis] We're looking at the worksheet called TextFormulas in our chapter five exercise file. And we got a restriction already setup in column A. As I click column A, Data Validation off the Data tab, we are seeing a restriction here that text length must be equal to nine characters. And that's what's happening in all these cases here, these are all nine characters. Remember, it won't accept an eight-character or a ten-character entry here. But a sharp-eyed observer might notice something in here. In this entry right here, that's not a one that we see after the 234. It's either an I or a lowercase l, we're not necessarily sure. And in the entry here, unless we have another zero in the screen nearby, we might not be sure maybe, but that's an O in there after the 2398, not a zero. Now, if someone had formatted these using the built-in social security format, either ahead of time or later, something would have popped out immediately.
