- Alright let's summarize the different steps in the investment process. The first is the origination step, this is the who, what, and where of how you're getting your deals, who you're getting your deals from, and where do you want your deals to be. And the what is what kind of deals do you want to do. So this is the part where it has everything to do with finding the right kind of investment opportunities where you should get it, who do you reach out to to get those and what kind of deals are a good fit for you. So it may be something where you want to invest in only in your city and you want to only invest in single family rental income properties and the who is you're reaching out to brokers and other contacts in personal networks who may be able to point you to deals that fit that criteria and that can be very different depending on what your goals are and for each investor.
