- [Instructor] We're looking at a worksheet called Employees…it's got about 700 rows, it's sorted.…Doesn't need to be if we're going to be creating a PivotTable…but often you will have data like this of a certain order.…One of the problems with the PivotTable, sometimes is that…your focused primarily on the summary,…you're looking at the totals.…But sometimes you need to get back to the source…and there are some techniques there's a term…loosely described as drill down that we want to focus on.…Let's first of all create a PivotTable.…The entire set of data here is between columns A through J.…
There are no empty rows within this list,…so we can simply create a PivotTable by clicking anywhere…within the data here, going to the Insert tab…in the ribbon, I'll choose PivotTable here,…the extent of the data from A1 in the upper left-hand corner…to J742 lower right-hand corner.…We want this PivotTable to be on a new worksheet…and simply click OK.…The PivotTable field list to the right…reminds us of the column headings,…
