- We're looking at a workbook called 09 - 02 - RegionalSales. We're looking at an East sheet, I'll click the Midwest sheet, same layout. South, West, an empty Sheet1, empty Sheet2, and the Sheet3 which still has the generic name Sheet3. We can easily rename sheets. One way is to right click a Sheet tab and then Rename and at that point we can start typing. But it's simply faster to double click it. Let's double click Sheet3 and call it performance scores or annual scores. You can have spaces in a Sheet tab name. You can use up to 31 characters, Annual Scores. When you use formulas that refer to sheet names, those that have spaces in them, also use automatically imbedded single quotes. It might make some formulas look a little bit more complex but there's nothing really wrong with the space in a sheet name and sometimes it improves readability.
