- [Instructor] You can refer to the contents of cells in another workbook by creating an external reference. In this video, we're going to learn how to link data using cell references, range references and how to use Get and Transform data to link to an external source. We have a lot of linking to do, so let's get started. We're going to be working with three different files. The main file, the destination file, is the 02_03 WorkbookReference. We'll also be working with the 02_03 2018 sales. And in the 2018 sales, we have the data in a table format, as well as just in a regular, standard format. Now, there's a third file called 02_03 2017 sales that I'm going to leave closed, because I want to demonstrate how you can have the workbook closed and still create that link between the documents. Let's go back to our destination workbook. We have our 2019 sales. Let's pull in the 2018 sales information. In cell C4, I'll type equals, go up to the view tab to switch windows, and let's bring…
