- [Instructor] Okay, so how do you visualize proportionality without circular shapes? Well there are a lot of options, some of which you probably already know, maybe most of them. First you have stacked bars and columns. Here you have a typical stacked bar where you have a single rectangle broken into segments so you can see approximately what proportion of the whole is made up of each category. Of course you can combine several of these into a single chart and now you're communicating the absolute values of the different categories at the same time you're communicating the proportions of the sub-categories within each one. If your KWY was not interested in the absolute values and was just focused in on the market share, you could do a 100% stacked bar instead. So the x-axis is now showing percentages rather than values. And the bars are all the full width of the axis since each category is 100% of whatever the…
