- [Instructor] After you have summarized the defect count data in an excel table like I've shown you here, you can create a C chart to summarize it visually. In this movie I will demonstrate the process by using the Excel workbook named 03 03 Plot C Chart Data. And you can find that in the chapter three folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook I have a worksheet that contains an Excel table with a set of 16 samples, the number of defective pixels from each sample from which I calculated the mean number of defective pixels as well as the upper control limit and the lower control limit which are three standard deviations above and below the mean, respectively. I should note for completeness, that the lower control limit is the maximum of zero or the mean minus three standard deviations because it's impossible to have a negative number of defective pixels or defective products, you can only have zero, then zero must be the lowest possible number for the lower control…
