- Hey, everyone, Chris Dutton here, and welcome to Excel Pivot Tables, Part One: Mastering Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts. In this course, we'll begin by discussing when and why to use pivot tables, and then review some core concepts, like navigating the field list, customizing table layouts, and refreshing and updating source data. From there, we'll dive into formatting options, sorting and filtering tools, and calculated values and fields. Finally, we'll practice visualizing our data with pivot charts, and even build an interactive dashboard, using towards like slicers, and timelines. Now, keep in mind that this is Part One of a two-part series, so make sure to check out Part Two: Real-World Case Studies, where we'll take all of the skills that we learned in Part One, and apply them to 10, brand-new data sets, including stock quotes, wine tasting scores, burrito ratings, and even shark attack records.
