- [Narrator] Starting in Excel 2016, 2 there are some new chart types available, 3 and it's not exactly obvious where they are 4 or how you might use them. 5 I've got some data in columns A, B, and C, 6 and you can tell by the way the data is structured, 7 sometimes we refer to this as a hierarchical structure, 8 first thought might be, 9 let's create a simple column chart here. 10 We can do this very quickly simply by clicking 11 with inside the data. 12 Because it is surrounded by empty cells, 13 we don't even have to highlight this data. 14 We'll simply press Alt + F1 to get a quick chart. 15 And I think most people would agree 16 that's not a very good-looking chart at all. 17 That doesn't really show the data. 18 So let's approach this from a different angle. 19 Insert tab in the ribbon. 20 How about recommended charts? 21 Do these look any better? 22 Well, that might be okay. 23 How about this one? 24…
