The #N/A error: What does it mean and what causes it? - Microsoft Excel Tutorial

(upbeat music) - Let's talk about errors in Excel. Say you open up a spreadsheet and there is that NA error. What does it mean? There's a couple of reasons. One, there is a mistake that needs to be corrected, or second, there is no mistake, we know what it means, and we can correct that. Here on the left side, we've got item numbers and we've got the inventory data that's being pulled from the table on the right side. There are the NA errors. But we can fix this so let's do it. In row four we've got 2-300. We know that that should be A2-300. So let's fix that. A, got it. Now we know there's one of those. These other two NAs, we know that that means discontinued so we fixed that by wrapping the formula in the if NA function. Let's go to our lookup formula.
