Modify axes
- When you work with column charts, bar charts, line charts, maybe even scatter charts, Excel automatically adjusts what we call the axes. There's a vertical axis down the left-hand side in this chart to the right here and a horizontal axis across the bottom. And we're on the worksheet called Profits 2020. There can be times when you want to make changes to these. But let's first show what happens as we adjust the data. In the green chart to the right, we see how it's topping out at 400. The highest value found here is 345. It's related to the data in cell G4, Sales for June. Now, I've been notified this is incorrect, that should've been 395, so we'll change that four to a nine. And as I press enter, keep your eye on the chart to the right. The scaling on the left-hand side as I press enter will automatically adjust. Now, there could be times when you say, "Well, I didn't want it to adjust, I want it to top out at 400.…
