- As you work with Charts, you'll start to become familiar…with some of the terms we use as we work with them.…For example, as I slide the mouse over the chart here…on this worksheet, it's called Chart Data,…as I slide the mouse over the chart,…notice the phrase Chart Area pops up.…The perimeter area of a chart…is referred to as a Chart Area.…Slide the mouse into the inner area,…where the actual plot lines and bars or columns appear,…sometimes lines, is called a Plot Area.…We don't really memorize these,…but we do become familiar with them over time,…those are two terms you'll see often, by the way.…
If I stop with the mouse right on the line,…you'll see a phrase…Vertical Value Axis Major Gridlines,…and on some charts you'll see Minor Gridlines.…Sliding over to the left, you'll see an axis,…that's the Vertical Value Axis.…Slide over one of the bars, you'll see its Value,…but above that, is part of a Series.…So these are terms that we see often.…And different chart types have different names too.…For example, there's a 3D Column Chart to the right here,…
