- AI applications are all around us in everyday life. From the post office to banks, credit card companies, telephone companies, all sorts of big firms are using AI. The post office uses AI and computer vision, or machine vision, to do address recognition, as an example. Banks use it for reading checks and classifying loans, determining whether or not they're going to lend money to you. Telephone companies use it for fraud detection or voice recognition. There's many applications of AI all around us if you just keep your eyes out. Let's take one example in the consumer marketing space. So any time you go and use your credit card in a store or something similar, your shopping information goes into a data set that's ultimately going to get used by AI. Companies like Nielsen buy and gather this information on a weekly basis, and then they search for patterns in it. How do they do this? Well, there's two options.
