How sales impact variable costs

- [Instructor] Understanding the relationship between product sales and variable costs is one of the most important parts of business budgeting. So let's take the time to understand it using a case study. If you'd like to follow along with me, have my business budget relationship open and navigate to the sales plan worksheet. Once you have this worksheet open, what you'll notice are the estimated number of daily sales in each month, and that appears in rows 14 to 17 here. However, as you can imagine, as the cafe sells more or less coffee, the volume of inputs required to produce those products will change, so let's go ahead and build the relationship between product sales and variable costs. In cell B27, you're asked to include the inputs. What we need to include here are the variable expense categories.
