- [Instructor] Now before we get going, let's pause to make sure that we have Excel for the web open. Excel for the web is Microsoft's online version of the popular spreadsheeting app. You'll need to open Excel for the web from within your Microsoft 365 account. I'm just going to go ahead and click on the Excel icon here, and then select, new blank workbook. Okay, it can be a little bit tricky to tell if you are using Excel for the web, versus the desktop app. The quickest way to tell for sure, is if you can see the app launcher icon here, which is the nine dots at the top left-hand side of the screen, then you're good to go, you're using Excel for the web. Okay, it kind of goes without saying, that to get started with Excel for the web, we need data.
