Formatting dates and times

- There may be times when you need to add dates or dates and times to a worksheet, and they all come with their own formatting which we're going to explore in this movie. Using our Landon Hotels Revenue sheet we've been building, let's go to cell A2 and click there. If you're skipping to this movie and you need to get caught up, just open up RH_Revenues0203. Now, we can type in dates many different ways. You can type it in with slashes or dashes, day, month, year or month, the day, year and so on, but it really doesn't matter how you type it in in the cell. It's going to appear a certain way in the formula bar, and the formatting can be changed in the cell itself. So, let's type in something like, how about 08-Oct for October-, I'm gonna type out the full year 2015 and press enter. You can see what happens. Default formatting is applied. It's a short form for the year, so it's 8-Oct with a capital O and then 15 for the year. Click cell A2 and check out the formula bar. This is the…
