- [Narrator] There are three very helpful functions that we can use to format and modify our text in our worksheets. In this video, we're going to talk about how to use the UPPER function to take the text in a cell and make it all upper case. We'll also demonstrate how to use the LOWER function which does just the opposite. It will take all of the text in a cell and make it lower case. The third function we will review is PROPER. PROPER takes the first letter of each word in a cell and capitalizes it. During the Excel 2016 MOSS Exam, you may be asked to use any of these functions, so we'll take time to review each one, and that'll help you be better prepared for the MOSS Exam. I have the 05_04 exercise file open, so let's go ahead and get started. First, let's look at upper case. We can see that our first names in our FIRST NAME column are all lower case.
