- [Instructor] Distribution diagrams come in different flavors beyond the histogram, of course. You can create something like this violin plot, which is a lot like its own little histogram or bell curve, but it's filled in and it occupies both sides of an access line. And, as you can see, each individual violin plot, in this case, is like a histogram within a histogram. You can imagine where the overall bell curve would be for this overall distribution, but in addition, for each bin, we're seeing the distribution of data within that bin. Now that's powerful. Maybe it's more detail than you need for your qwhy, or maybe it's just what the doctor ordered. It depends on your data, your audience, et cetera. The box plot, or box and whiskers, is pretty similar in some ways to the violin plot, in that it can show a nice range of data.
