- We've got gift card data here. And over on the right side we're getting information about the codes associated with the gift cards. So anything ending with 01, we know it was purchased online. So Daphnee purchased her gift card online. We want to do something with this data, so we're going to go into Power Query from Tables/Range. Now what we want to talk about is this automatic change type step in the Query settings. It has made guesses about our data types. Yes, the purchased by, that's text. That's what the ABC means. The card value, it's got it as whole numbers when really those are dollar amounts. So it's guessed wrong, and one area where this comes up is what if I do want to look at the online gift cards?
