- [Instructor] Production and service processes are cycles. They start and end at given points. When you analyze these cycles, you want to know how long it takes the cycle to run. You should also identify when workers or resources are standing idle. You can use cycle time and idle time to gain useful insights into your processes. My sample file for this movie is the cycle time workbook, and you can find it in the chapter two folder of your exercise files collection. I need a number of calculations in place to calculate cycle time and idle time, but I've covered those calculations elsewhere in this course, so I've already done them, but I will take a moment to review them now. This process consists of six resources and they're numbered one through six. Directly underneath the resource number, I have the time in minutes, that it will take to complete the process.
