Define named ranges and objects
- [Narrator] Naming ranges of data that will be used to navigate workbooks, or to be used in formulas, is a great idea. By using named ranges, you can make your formulas easier to create and understand. Think about structured references. On the Excel 2016 MOS Expert Exam, you may be asked to name an object, such as a table. You may also be asked to create, edit, or delete a named range. In this video, we'll review how to perform all four of those functions. I have the 0408 exercise file open, so let's name some ranges. We're going to start on our customers' worksheet, and we can see that the customer information has already been converted into a table. If I go to my table tools design tab, over to the properties window, I can see that we still have the default name, table one. Remember, as you convert your data to a table, Excel will name the table sequentially, table one, table two, table three.
