- [Instructor] When you think about database tools, you don't always think about Microsoft Excel, and that's too bad, because, for better or worse, Excel is one of the most popular database applications in the world. Hi, I'm Curt Frye, and in this course, we're going to look at common database problems, and how Excel can be used to address them. We'll look at creating a database and importing data, cleaning up and transforming data in Excel, searching through data for specific values, and calculating values based on data from multiple sources.
This course is a part of the database clinic series, where experts are given the same challenges and asked how their tool of choice can be used to address them. You can watch just this course, if you want to learn how Excel can be used as a database tool, or, if you like, you can watch the different courses in this series to compare the features and advantages of each of these different tools. Let's get going.
