- If you are trying to depict data over time,…often a line chart is the best chart.…It brings out the idea of a trend,…or the lack of a trend.…On this worksheet called Line Chart,…we're seeing two different line charts,…the chart to the left,…is represented by the data over in columns A and B,…the chart to the right has data further off to the right.…Notice the difference in the two,…the chart to the left has markers,…the one to the right doesn't.…When you create a chart, I think…markers generally are helpful.…In the chart to the right, we can't always tell…where the point actually resides.…
So if we were to change this,…and I would recommend it,…click the chart to the right, as I'm doing here.…And then, on the Charts tab in the ribbon,…second choice for Line.…I usually start with the fourth option,…I think this is the best.…Marked Line as opposed to the plain line,…which was chosen for this chart earlier.…Marked Line, I think you can see the data a lot better.…But do recognize, that the points are different.…The blue line has diamonds,…
