- [Instructor] Now that we've created a link between two data sources in PowerPivot, wouldn't it be wonderful to see this all come together in one view, one table? Luckily this is incredibly easy using a feature in PowerPivot called custom calculations, or DAX, D-A-X, which stands for data analysis expressions. Now DAX can be used for doing all sorts of fancy things with your data, such as creating new calculations, new views, and that kind of thing, and all this without having to write complex formulas. I suggest you have the Excel file open for this video to follow along with me, and from the PowerPivot menu, go ahead and select manage. This opens up the data model. Once open, what you'll see is we have two tabs, one for the data source called EV sales, which is our raw data, and another called location type.
