- [Instructor] Even though computer screens have gotten larger and can show more data than ever, if you're designing a dashboard or a worksheet for everyday use, space is at a premium. In this movie, I will show you how to create a variety of sparkline, or small chart, which can summarize your data efficiently. My sample file is a 0505, line sparkline. And it is a macro enabled workbook, you can find in the chapter five folder of your exercise files collection. Edward Tufte, who is a graphic designer, created a type of visualization called a sparkline. Which he defined as a word like summary of data. In Excel, sparklines take the form of a small chart that appears within a worksheet cell. So my goal, is to create a summary in cell E1, of the data, that appears in the range B2 through B8.
