(lively music) - When we have to enter data, it's easy to get sloppy, start makin' abbreviations, makin' typos, and when we do that, the analysis is a mess. But how can we control that? Drop-down lists. Let's take southwest. That can be sw, it can can be south space west. And then when we do our analysis, then we've got some data tied to southwest, some data tied to sw. That doesn't work. That's when directors start askin', "Can we trust these numbers? "I thought it would be somethin' different." The way to fix this is drop-down lists. Let's do that. So first of all, let's have a Y or an N for yes or no under completions. I'm going to highlight this range. We're going to Data, Data validation, want to go down to Allow. We want a List. We want it in Cell. I'm going to uncheck Ignore blank. Now I'm going to go here, then to Source, type a Y comma N, OK. Now you see the drop-down list tab. Now let's click on it. Y and N are our only choices. Let's put a maybe in this cell. Maybe…
