- [Teacher] When you summarize data on a worksheet or in a dashboard, you'll find that you need to make the best use of space. That means you should create small graphs where large ones might convey the same information, but take up a lot more room. In this movie, I will show you how to create a specific kind of small graphic representation called a column sparkline. My sample file is O five, O six column sparkline. And you can find that in the chapter five folder of the exercise files collection. Edward Tufte, who is a graphic designer, invented something called a sparkline, which he defined as a word like representation of data. In Excel, sparklines are implemented as small graphs that appeared within the cell. If we take a look at the data, on the March worksheet in my sample file, you'll notice that we have daily sales for a store, and there are seven items.
