- [Instructor] On this worksheet called ChartData…in our chapter one file are two charts.…Creating charts is sometimes mistakenly thought of…as a process that's going to take some time.…But it can be really fast.…The standard way to create a chart…is after selecting Data…to go to the Insert tab,…pick the chart type that you're interested in…and then proceed by clicking one of these buttons.…Sometimes you're in a hurry…and also at different times you're thinking…I might want to chart on the current worksheet…or maybe on a different worksheet.…There are keystroke shortcuts for both situations.…
I want to create a chart showing just this data here.…As a general rule, an approach to charting,…totals and details don't mix so well.…I'm leaving off the totals here in column E,…highlighting just this data.…I want to create a chart quickly.…Alt + F1, that's the function key F1.…Alt + F1, there's a chart.…The default chart type in Excel,…unless you've changed it, is a clustered column chart.…That might or might not be the best choice…
