- [Instructor] In this worksheet, 2 we see four different kinds of phone numbers 3 as commonly used within the United States. 4 Now, in all these cases here in cells A2 over to D2, 5 the characters as we see them, have all been typed. 6 So in the last example in D2, 7 what was actually typed was three, zero, three, period, 8 four, four, zero, period, 9 and the other numbers. 10 Over in column A, the parentheses, 11 the space, the dash have been typed and so on. 12 Now we can, in each of these cases, 13 either by using a built-in format 14 or creating a custom format, 15 make data entry faster and more reliable, 16 less error prone, 17 by taking advantage of some of these built-in features. 18 So if we like the format in column A, 19 let's apply the format for all cells so that we 20 in the future here, in these other entries, 21 we'll need only type the actual numbers. 22 So selecting column A, we can do this…
