Combine text using functions and flash fill
- [Instructor] Let's talk about how you can quickly and easily combine text using functions and a great new tool in Excel 2016, Flash Fill. Now Concatenate is tough to say but it's oh so easy to use. We use Concatenate to combine text from one or more cells. Flash Fill as I mentioned is a great tool that's available in Excel 2016 and we use Flash Fill to also combine text from two or more cells but it is much easier to use and say. In this video I'll demonstrate how to use both Concatenate and Flash Fill. On the Excel 2016 Mos exam you will probably be asked to use one of these methods to combine text. Be sure to use the method noted in the instructions, in other words don't Flash Fill if you've been asked to use Concatenate. I have the 05_05 exercise file open, let's go ahead and get started. First we'll use Concatenate, this is the one that's most likely to show up on the Mos exam. I'll go ahead and type an equals sign and begin typing Concatenate, luckily it shows up in my auto…
