- Creating an accurate budget requires you to know what the client actually needs versus what they want. See there is a difference because when you deliver a project the client needs, the end result is generally much more effective. Figuring out what they need will greatly impact your budgeting. Now in the client assessment, we ask six simple questions so we can understand the scope of the project. It's important to listen closely to your client as they respond and also to read between the lines if you will on what it is they really need. Oftentimes what the client wants far exceeds their needs or their budget. You see, they've seen the latest movie, a television show, an online video and that's what they want without any clue as to the logistics or budget.
