- [Tutor] Once you've put together a basic data set, you'll probably need to go through and start cleaning it up to do some sort of manipulations in order to enable you to get the right results out of that data set. That is to get a meaningful forecast. Let's take a look at what that process entails. I'm in the zero three zero three begin Excel file. Now we've gathered some data from FRED and we've started the process of cleaning this up. But we're probably going to want to go through and do a little bit more. For one thing, the data right now shows as all being levels, right? In other words, in January, 1990 we had annualized vehicle sales of 16 million vehicles. In February, it was 14.1 million vehicles. In March 14.2 million vehicles, et cetera. Similarly, if we look at an initial jobless claims in January, 1990 we had 361,000 initial jobless claims in the first week.
