Choose styles and layouts
- [Instructor] When you're trying to change the general appearance of a chart, you've got multiple options. On this worksheet called Year Data in our chapter one file, I'm looking at the column chart to the right of the data. First option, as I click the chart and select it, is the Chart Design tab set of options called Chart Styles. This is a drop area to the right. Now, sliding over these one by one, watch the chart below. Depending upon the chart type, you might see fewer choices here, but quite a lot of variations on how the basic look of the chart changes. And you don't have to worry about the details or how Excel is changing this element or that element. And once again, the indecisive person here might be in trouble, because there are a lot of choices. So, I'll pick one of these. Say this one, black background, I like that. Now, I might want to do other things, but that certainly gives me the opportunity…
