Calculate financial data with NPER() and PMT() functions
- In this video, we will look at two financial functions, NPER and PMT. NPER is a function that we can use to determine how many payments we will make for the long-- What will the number of periods be? We'll know the loan amount. The number of periods is the question. We'll know the interest rate and then we can also use the PMT function if we want to know our payment. So, you have a couple different ways to look at this depending on what your knowns are. For the PMT function, we will know the loan amount, the number of periods, the interest rate, we just will not know what our payment will be. Let's take a look at our NPER workbook. And we see that we have a worksheet for each of these functions. So for the NPER function, we will click in B9 and notice we are trying to determine how many months it will take us to pay off our loan of $40,000. We know our monthly payments is $250 and we know the annual interest rate is…
