- [Narrator] A powerful yet not 2 so well known function in Excel is called DATEDIF. 3 And there's something very strange about it. 4 If you had heard about the function 5 and maybe heard a brief description of the fact 6 that it can handle differences in dates to tell you 7 how many years, months, days have passed. 8 If you forgot about that and came back later 9 and tried to find it by going to the formulas tab 10 and clicking date and time, you will not see DATEDIF here 11 and yet it does work. 12 And furthermore, if you're using Excel for the Mac 13 in recent versions until Excel 2016 for the Mac, 14 you'll find a documented in the current version 15 2016 for the Mac. 16 It's not found there either, 17 although it works as we're about to see as it does here too 18 in Excel 2016 for Windows. 19 So equal Datedif allows us 20 to calculate the difference in dates. 21 And if you look over in column G, 22 I'll…
