- [Narrator] Alright, onto some slightly more interesting functions. We've got the counting functions in DAX. So there are four that we're gonna practice here. Countrows, count, countA, and a new one called distinctcount which is really, really helpful. So, countrows, it just counts the number of rows in an entire specified table or by a table defined by some sort of expression. Now, an easy example of that, countrows, reference the table gives you the total number of rows. Super simple. Next up we've got count. Count counts the number of cells in a column that contain numbers. So all you do is you point the count function to a column and it returns that number. CountA is slightly different. It counts the number of non-empty cells in a column, so that could include both numerical or text-based, non-numerical values. Same exact syntax there. And finally, distinctcount. Really useful one.
