CIA World Factbook

- [Narrator] CIA, which is the United States Central Intelligence Agency, is tasked with gathering, analyzing, and assessing information about foreign countries. The goal of this activity is to discover the current conditions in, and intentions of, countries other than the U.S. As part of this outreach to U.S. citizens, CIA publishes its World Factbook, which offers basic information about the government, citizens, and economies of countries throughout the world. The first step is to visit the CIA website, and that is at cia.gov. If you type in www.cia.gov into your web browser, you'll be taken to this index page. To find the World Factbook, you can either go to the library, or you can also scroll down, and under resources, click World Factbook. That takes you to a page with the World Factbook, which is now completely online, and you can find information here about specific countries. So if I look over to the right, I see a list box with "please select a country to view" as its text…
