- [Instructor] One of the reasons business analytics is such an important and fast growing field, is because it has tremendous applications for many of the firms out there. Let's talk about some examples, in the real world where business analytics is used. So one example of business analytics is around improving marketing and advertising. For instance, many people are familiar with the concept of A/B testing in ads, essentially putting up one version of an ad, putting up another version of an ad, and seeing which one performs better. Business analytics builds on this concept and says, okay, let's go through and target very small sections of our customer base, and then try different marketing approaches to see which one works best.
