Amazon Web Services Public Data Sets
- [Instructor] Amazon.com is best known as the Internet's book seller of choice, but it also provides cloud computing services such as remote data storage and processing. As part of its operations, Amazon provides access to big datasets in several scientific fields. In this movie, I will show you where to find that data, and identify tools that you can use to analyze it. The website that you need to visit is registry.opendata.aws. And you can see here that AWS, or Amazon Web Services, gives you access to 110 datasets. You can search the datasets if you like, or you can scroll through the list on the right to take a look at what's available. So for example you have Sentinel-2, which is a two satellite land monitoring constellation that provides information about the Earth, the surface of the Earth, and it works in conjunction with the Spot and Landsat missions.
