- [Instructor] When you create pivot tables, 2 sometimes the way Excel displays dates might not be 3 to your liking. 4 And there was a change started in Excel 2016, 5 which carries into additional versions, 6 where you might want to change what we call a default setting. 7 I've got a list of data here, about 900 rows. 8 I'm going to create a pivot table. 9 There are no empty rows within the list. 10 I've scoped it out. 11 I'll go to the insert tab, choose pivot table. 12 I want this on a separate sheet. 13 That's the default setting anyway. 14 I'll simply click okay, 15 and then we are on a separate sheet. 16 I want to track items, 17 so I'll click that box first 18 and immediately that appears 19 in a very tiny pivot table over in Column A. 20 But I want to track this by region. 21 I'm going to put that as a column heading. 22 And then, the date entries, I want to appear 23 as a rows label. 24 In Excel 2016…
