- You can add free floating text to a chart,…you can add a text box to a chart.…They're very similar and we can start in different locations…with a slight difference in the meaning.…First of all, if we select a chart…and go to the Format tab,…in the group called Insert Shapes in the menu to the left,…one of the icons, possibly if you haven't used it recently…you might not see it here,…but if you click the drop arrow you will see a text box.…Click it.…Now, a text box doesn't necessarily mean a box.…
You can click and drag and create a box.…And I can type, for example,…"Good job, Karen."…She's our sales manager.…Exclamation point.…I can click outside of this…and even though that is a text box,…we don't necessarily need the box.…We can click outside of it and we don't see it.…I can click back here, here's the box.…I could if I wanted to go to the Format tab,…give it a background color.…Something like that.…Now, what happens if I move the chart?…That data moves with it…and that's probably what you would expect…and that's all well and good.…
