- So we've showed you how dynamic tables can be in terms of adding columns and rows automatically. And automatically calculating formulas. In one case we used a simple commission formula, the 15% applied to sales. Unfortunately that's not always true. Not all our sales reps have the same commission rate. Some may have a fully earned commission rate. Some may be on a probationary rate. Here we're going to break a little bit of convention and do two formulas. So for this course we'll be at three formulas total. Not scary formulas. In fact the reason we're doing it, is the formula we're going to go over is one of the most used formulas in all of Excel. In any business discipline, whether it's sales, finance, marketing. It's called VLOOKUP. And it allows you to look up an object or an item. Let's say in this case we're going to look up sales rep name. And we're going to compare that against a commission table.
