Select a range of empty cells and type cell entries repeatedly interspersed with the Tab key to complete entries moving rightward across rows or the Enter key to complete entries moving down through columns. Select two adjacent cells containing numbers; drag to create a series with the same interval as the first two cells.
- [Voiceover] Data entry is one those chores…that probably most Excel users are not too found of.…But there are some shortcuts for entering…certain kinds of data, and how you enter data too.…In this empty worksheet called sheet one…we see the word 'Name' there in column A.…I'm about to put in some other headings up top.…Just to the right of this I'm going to put 2016 salary.…I'm thinking that the salaries are going to be…somewhat narrow compared with that text entry.…So as I type 2016, I'd like to have the word salary appear…below this, but in the same cell.…
So I'll press alt + enter, and then type salary.…And eventually I'll make the column narrower…once I get the data in below it.…And in column C, something silmilar…I want to put in the tax code here…and make sure it's the 2016 tax code.…And the entries in column C…are only going to be one or two letters.…So here too, I might want the column to be narrower.…There are different approaches to using the wrapped text…feature, and you'll see in the alignment tab…
