The AutoSum button, found on the Home tab and the Formulas tab, as well as its keystroke shortcut (command+shift+T) simplifies formula construction, while automatically tabulating values from cells above or to the left of its current location. You might never need to type the SUM function, just press the button and fill in the details.

When you click the button here,…it shows you what it's about to do.…If that looks good, you can just press return.…It's all done.…Sometimes it can be made faster.…I'm going to undo this, control Z.…And this time, highlight the data and press AutoSum.…Total appears immediately.…Similarly, right here, AutoSum.…You might have a situation where you've got some numbers.…Put in some numbers out here,…
