Sort by background color or font color
- [Instructor] In this work sheet called HR list color, the first obvious thing we see is the fact that certain rows, like row six, rows 12, 13, 15 have a cell color background. We see yellow, blue, green, pink in row 23 and so on. You can sort on the basis of cell background color, or font color, as the case might be. And if you use conditional formatting, you can also sort by cell icon. We cannot use the short menu icons for AZ or ZA, we have to use the larger sort button. In this particular list I'll simply click within it and then press command A, quick reminder, just to make sure that we have all of our data in one continuous block then press control period a few times. The data is all in one solid cluster, 762 rows. Click within the data, on the data tab, go to the larger sort button. If we want to sort by color, and we've got four different colors we want to have at least four levels. So we can add the levels now if we wish, lower left corner and let's click the plus three more…
