(upbeat music) - Hello, I'm Dennis Taylor and I'm pleased to present Excel 2007 Advanced Formulas and Functions. If you're like most Excel users, you want to know more about this software. You use some of the 300 plus functions, but you realize that you might be missing something. Shouldn't there be a better way to do what it is you're doing? In this course, I'll show you practical examples of some of the advanced formulas and functions in Excel to make you more confident as you work with your data.
I'll start by giving you some great shortcuts and tips to speed your work in Excel, then a quick review of the basic functions as a foundation. I'll show you the powerful "If" function and a variety of look up functions including "Vlookup," "Match" and "Index" to help you find exactly what you're looking for. You'll see how to use some vital math and financial functions and how to work with the very useful "Date" functions to analyze data in a variety of ways. I'll teach you how to use powerful array formulas and functions to expand your analytical powers and use a few indispensable text functions to organize your data.
And finally, I'll show you a dazzling technique for creating multi-tiered pick lists via the obscure "Indirect" function. With this wealth of tips and practical examples, I know you'll be ready to tackle more Excel challenges in ways you never thought possible, so let's get started working on Excel 2007 Advanced Formulas and Functions.
