Join Jess Stratton for an in-depth discussion in this video Giving your shop a name, part of Selling on Etsy.
It's time to create your shop. From anywhere on the Etsy page at the very top left hand side, once you're logged in click the Sell button. From here you can read the things that you can sell on Etsy, and when you're ready click the blue Open an Etsy Shop button. The first thing that you need to do is setup your language, currency, and country. It's going to make a recommendation for you. If that's the one you want you can click Yes. Or click No to choose some different defaults. For now I'll click the blue Yes button because those are what I want. And you can also answer a little questionnaire about what you hope to accomplish from Etsy.
For example, reach Etsy buyers, I already sell full time. Quit your day job and sell full time. In my case, I just want to sell this jewelry in my spare time, so that's what I'll choose. The first thing that you need to do is set your shop name. Now you can change this. However, I already set my user name accordingly so that I can be consistent. So I'm going to give my shop a similar name. When you're done, click the Save button. It's that easy to start creating a shop. Now you can't do anything else until you start listing items, and we're about to do that in the next video.
